Replace the gear and sprocket assembly or the drive and worm gears when they re worn and making noises.
This is an easy fix.
They can hear the motor going but the door itself is not opening.
The opener motor is fine but the shaft doesn t turn.
Look for worn teeth or gears that don t mesh properly.
While the unit is open inspect all the gears and sprockets.
Also inspect the sprocket on top of the unit you ll have to remove the guard to make sure it s meshing with the lift chain belt.

When you find that your garage door motor is making a humming noise but not opening and closing it typically means that it has gone off track or needs some sort of small adjustment.
Try replacing the batteries in the remote and trying again.
